Welcome to the Matt Talbot Resource Center

Welcome to the Venerable Matt Talbot Resource Center. Our purpose is to provide available information about the life, times, and alcoholism recovery approach of Matt Talbot to all who might be interested. There are many people around the world who pray for his canonization as a saint and as official patron of alcoholics and/or pray for his intercession for their own recovery from alcoholism or the recovery of others.

Matt's journey of continuous sobriety was based on the resources that were available in Dublin during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Matt died ten years before the founding of
Alcoholics Anonymous by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith in Akron, Ohio, USA, in 1935 and 21 years before the first AA meeting was held in Dublin on November 18, 1946.

Perhaps the best place to begin his story is to go to the official website, "The Matt Talbot Story" at http://www.matt-talbot.com/ Basic information about him is presented but note that the "News" section has not been updated in recent years.
