Pope confirms plans to visit Dublin in August

The World Meeting of Families will take place in Dublin Aug. 21-26  2018.  Vatican  News (and numerous news sources)  stated today that Pope Francis will preside at the closing ceremonies on the final two days (http://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/news/2018-03/pope-francis-to-visit-ireland-for-world-meeting-of-families.html

While most of us would like for the pope to visit Venerable Matt Talbot’s Shrine, the brevity of his visit probably precludes it, but we can hope that he at least acknowledges Matt during his visit.

A Parable of Two Wolves

An old Cherokee Chief is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.

“It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.”

He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”
